CAPE TOWN: WHERE CULTURE AND COASTLINE MEET
The journey began beneath Table Mountain where the Bugatti convoy gathered in one of the world’s most visually striking cities. An opening evening at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa set the tone, blending architecture, art and anticipation ahead of the drive to come.
THE EDGE OF THE PENINSULA
Departing Cape Town, the convoy traced the Atlantic coastline before climbing Chapman’s Peak Drive, a road carved into sheer cliffs above the ocean. The route continued south toward Cape Point where land, wind and water meet in a landscape shaped by two oceans.
INTO THE WINELANDS AND BEYOND
Turning inland, the cars moved through mountain passes into the Tulbagh valley, an area defined by historic architecture and long standing wine culture. The pace slowed briefly among vineyards before the route opened again toward more remote terrain.
THE KAROO AND ROUTE 62
Back on the road, the convoy crossed into the Klein Karoo where dry landscapes and long stretches of open road offered a completely different driving experience. Route 62 delivered flowing lines and distance that allowed the cars to come into their own.
THE WEST COAST
Heading north, the tour reached Paternoster where the Atlantic returns in a more rugged form. Fishing villages, whitewashed buildings and open beaches created a setting that contrasted sharply with the earlier stages of the drive.
A FINAL RETURN
The final leg brought the group back through the Cape Winelands via Franschhoek Pass before closing out at one of the country’s most respected automotive collections. It was a fitting end to a journey that combined landscape, culture and engineering into a single experience.
